The AI speaking coach for every child.
Elliqo is a new generation of AI built for oracy. Every child aged 5 to 18 gets regular speaking practice and kind, clear feedback. Teachers see it all, and always have the final say.
The Mystery Door
Tell us what happens when you open it.
We teach reading and writing every day. Speaking gets whatever time is left.
Reading and writing are taught, marked and evidenced every week. Speaking, the skill used in every interview, every meeting and every conversation of a child's life, is squeezed into whatever time remains. And as AI takes over more of the writing, the human skills that set a young person apart are exactly the ones school practises least.
Ofsted's inspection toolkit expects that all pupils are “explicitly taught how to communicate effectively through spoken language (oracy)”.
Ofsted, school inspection toolkit · in use from 7 September 2026To parents, governors and inspectors. That means teachers in charge.
Speak. Reflect. Grow.
A simple, powerful loop that turns every attempt into progress.
Speak
Children take on age-appropriate speaking tasks, from describing a favourite toy to building an argument, with friendly prompts to help them plan. Then they record, as many times as they like.
Reflect
Elliqo gives one thing they did well and one clear next step, grounded in their own words and written the way an experienced teacher would say it.
Grow
They try again with their feedback in mind. Each attempt builds on the last, and teachers can compare first, later and final attempts.
AI that schools and parents can trust
An AI that does a child's work for them doesn't help them learn. Elliqo is built the other way round: children do the talking, AI does the coaching, and teachers make the decisions.
Children do the talking
Every word is their own. Elliqo never speaks, writes or answers for a child.
AI does the coaching
Kind, clear, age-appropriate feedback that helps a child take their next step.
Teachers make the decisions
Teachers review, adjust and approve. Professional judgement always comes first.
Our safety promises
Teachers can check every piece of feedback against the child's own recording before it counts.
Elliqo does not grade personality, emotion, confidence or ability from a child's voice.
No rankings, no public scores, no comparing children. Feedback is about ideas and communication, never accent.
Children's data is used only to support their learning. It is never sold and never used for advertising.
Designed to work within each school's own safeguarding, data protection and retention policies.
New AI features are checked carefully with educators before they reach children.
Oracy for every pupil. Without the extra workload.
Elliqo gives every child the speaking practice they deserve, and gives teachers the time, visibility and control to make it count.
Teachers stay in charge, always
Review each child's recording, check the feedback, add your own comments and make the final call. Elliqo supports professional judgement; it never replaces it.
Every child, every week
Every pupil can practise speaking regularly, not just the few who get picked in class.
Every voice in the class, heard
Inclusive by design
Private, low-pressure practice for quieter pupils, EAL learners and children who need more time. Feedback focuses on ideas and communication, never accent.
Progress you can see
Honest evidence of how each child's speaking develops over time, attempt by attempt, for conversations with leaders and families.
Safeguarding at the core
Designed for schools from day one, with privacy, security and each school's own policies built into how Elliqo works.
Every age. Every kind of talk.
Age-aware tasks and feedback that grow with each child, across the ways we speak in school and in life.
Feedback that feels human
No scores, no robotic reports. One specific strength and one achievable next step, drawn from what the child actually said, so they know exactly how to improve.
This is what a pupil actually gets back.
Not a score. Not a report. One thing that worked, quoted from their own words, and one next step they can act on straight away, written the way an experienced teacher would say it.
- It quotes them. The praise names what they actually said, so they know which move worked.
- One next step, not a list. Chosen for this pupil, this attempt, this task.
- It remembers last time. When a pupil improves, the feedback says so, in their own words.
- The teacher decides. Every piece of feedback can be checked against the recording before it counts.

Ten minutes on Monday. That's the change.
Oracy usually fails because there is no room for it. Elliqo is built to sit inside the week you already have.
Set one task
Choose a speaking task for the class and set it. Elliqo brings the planning prompts, success criteria and cue cards for that task, age group and genre. There is no lesson to write.
They practise
Pupils record whenever it suits: in a lesson, at home, or in a quiet corner. Thirty pupils can all speak in the time it used to take to hear four, and nobody waits for a turn.
You review
Each pupil already has one strength and one next step waiting. You listen, check it against what you heard, add anything Elliqo missed, and decide what counts.
No new lesson to plan. No pile of marking. The feedback is ready before you open it, and your professional judgement is what goes on the record.
Elliqo Home is the family app we're building next. A separate app made just for home, where children practise with Nova, chase streaks and badges, and parents watch them grow week by week. It isn't the version schools use, and it isn't out yet. Join the waitlist and be first through the door.
Speaking practice kids actually want to do.
Elliqo Home turns speaking practice into a daily adventure. Children take on fun challenges and games with Nova, their friendly speaking coach, while parents see exactly how they're growing.

Help shape the future of oracy
We're inviting a small group of forward-thinking schools to join Elliqo as founding schools, trying it first and helping to shape what we build.
What it involves
- Start small. One class or one year group to begin with, not a whole-school rollout.
- We set you up. We create your classes and pupil codes with you, and walk your teachers through it.
- We agree the shape together. When and how pupils record is something we work out with you.
- Tell us what's working. A short conversation each half term. That's the part we need most.
Registering your interest doesn't commit your school to anything. We'll talk first, and you decide.
- 🚀First accessBe among the very first schools to use Elliqo with pupils.
- 🛠️A real voice in the productYour teachers' feedback directly shapes features and tasks.
- 🤝Close, personal supportWork directly with the Elliqo team throughout.
- 🌟Lead the wayShow your community you're at the forefront of responsible AI in education.

What is Elliqo?
Elliqo is an AI speaking coach for children aged 5 to 18. Children complete short speaking tasks, receive one strength and one next step, and try again, while teachers review their work and stay in charge.
Does Elliqo replace teachers?
No. Elliqo gives every child more speaking practice than one teacher could provide alone, but teachers review children's work, can change the feedback and always make the final decision.
Is the AI safe for children?
Safety is built into how Elliqo works. Children's words are always their own, feedback is kind and age-appropriate, teachers stay in the loop, and Elliqo does not judge personality, emotion or ability from a child's voice. Read our Safety & Trust guide.
What happens to children's data?
Children's data is used only to support their learning. It is never sold or used for advertising, and Elliqo is designed to work within each school's own data protection, safeguarding and retention policies.
Does it help children learning English, or quieter pupils?
Yes, that's one of the reasons Elliqo exists. Private, low-pressure practice gives children who rarely speak up in class the chance to build confidence, and feedback focuses on ideas and communication, never accent.
What does it mean to be a founding school?
Founding schools are among the first to use Elliqo, work closely with our team and help shape the product. Register your interest or book a 20-minute call and we'll talk you through what's involved. There's no commitment at this stage.
When is Elliqo Home launching?
Elliqo Home is in development. Join the waitlist and we'll let you know as soon as it's ready.

“I started Elliqo because of something I noticed at home.
My own children could read and write. But when I asked them to tell me a story, or explain what they had done that day, they found it hard to put it into words. There was nothing at school that could show me how they were developing as speakers. Reading and writing are assessed and tracked. Speaking is left to look after itself.
That did not sit right with me.
Children learn to speak before they learn to write. Their voice is the first way they make sense of the world, yet it is given less structure, less feedback and less visibility than anything they write.
Confident children are not only the ones who read and write well. They are the ones who can explain, question, present, discuss and be heard.”
