Every word is the child's own. Elliqo never speaks, writes or answers for them.
Kind, clear, age-appropriate feedback: one strength and one next step.
Teachers review, adjust and approve. Professional judgement comes first.
๐งญHow AI is used in Elliqo
AI is used for two jobs only: turning what a child says into text, and drafting feedback for them. Here's what happens when a child completes a speaking task.
โ What Elliqo does, and doesn't do
Elliqo does
- Give every child regular, low-pressure speaking practice
- Base feedback on the child's own words
- Use kind, age-appropriate language, from age 5 to 18
- Focus on ideas and communication
- Keep teachers in charge of every final judgement
Elliqo does not
- Speak, write or answer for a child
- Judge personality, emotion, confidence or ability from a child's voice
- Rank children or show public scores
- Judge or correct a child's accent
- Sell children's data or use it for advertising
๐ฉโ๐ซHuman oversight
Teachers stay in the loop
AI feedback is a starting point, not a verdict. Teachers can check a child's work, edit or replace the feedback, add their own comments, and decide when a task is complete.
Built for professional judgement
Elliqo is designed to support teachers' expertise, never to replace it. Any educational judgement about a child's progress is made by their teacher.
๐Privacy and data protection
Children's data
- Used only to support children's learning
- Never sold, and never used for advertising or profiling
- Only available to authorised staff at the child's school
- Encrypted when it travels between devices and our systems
Schools stay in control
- Designed to work within each school's data protection, retention and deletion policies
- We work with each school on privacy information and data protection impact assessments
- Built with UK GDPR and UAE data protection requirements in mind
- Schools decide the lawful basis for processing, with their own advisers
๐ก๏ธSafeguarding
School procedures come first
Elliqo does not replace a school's safeguarding procedures. Teachers remain responsible for responding to any concern, following their school's own policies.
Safe by design
Children practise in a private space with no public sharing, no chat with other users and no advertising. Tasks and feedback are written for children's age and stage.
๐งชTesting before trust
New AI features are checked carefully with educators before they reach children. Experimental ideas, such as analysing tone of voice, stay out of classrooms unless and until they have been properly tested and validated.
